Ah, I'm sorry! I don't usually make calendars for Camp NaNo, but there will definitely be a new one for NaNo proper in November! Good luck!

The Day 1 tip is brilliant! So glad I found this. Just in time for the crazy halfway-I'm-never-gonna-finish-this-book-ever-mark feeling. :)

What a lovely background! I love the colour of the leaves and the addition of a pen! (I think that's a dip pen but I'm not sure...) But the individual squares are the best bit - with the tips and stuff :D

I've had this as my background for the last couple of weeks already, as a reminder to get myself ready for next month! Not much time left until everything starts. At least I found all my notes that I lost earlier this year from VERY early prep work! lol

Ooh, I like this one!! It's amazing how fast NaNo 2012 is approaching...and even though I know I do not have time to do NaNoWriMo this year at all, I reallly want to do it. I've completed 2 years worth and I don't want to break the record! ;D
Great wallpaper though, will definitley be using it because I have a feeling my stubborness is going to have me at least attempt to keep up with NaNo this year... :meow:
Thanks!

I never have time for NaNo, but I always try anyway. XD And really, the busiest November I've had -- which included two weeks of intense finals in the middle of November, a cross-country move, and a flight out of the country on November 27th -- was a NaNo win. 8D You never know!

Wow, impressive! And you're right, I'm going to try! Who knows, maybe the busy-ness of everything else will help me get my novel done more efficiently! Hah (Hopeful, but not really probable ;p)

Oh my gosh yes! This is so gonna be my desktop background during November. Although, I've gotta add "write-in at Disneyland" on Nov. 10. Because that's the day of my b-day! YUSS!!!! My birthday's in November! I celebrate with a good chapter or two. Or three. Or however I feel like.

That is one wicked plan.

Does this take into consideration of school or work?

Sorta? NaNoWriMo is a challenge. There will always be things in the way -- school, work, life in general -- and this is the challenge to write anyway. c: November is possibly the worst month of the year for me to try and write a novel, but this will be my ninth year taking a go at it and at this point, I can't imagine a November without it. XD

I have never taken a whole month to write a story that long. I'm not that good.

Question. I might have missed this in the plan, but are you suppose to just write the story and not go over it or correct it or stuff like that? I did notice that you said to turn off your spell check. :)

Yeah I know there will always be something, but that is alot of words.

Right, the idea is to just write without too much thought for nitpicky details and such because there will always be time for editing later, but you can't edit what you haven't written, so the challenge is to just write with abandon until you hit your goal. Details at NaNoWriMo.org !

I did read up on it before I made my first comment.

It said write a novel. For me that includes editing and spell checking and so on.

Maybe one of these days (years) I'll try it. :)

A first draft of a novel is still a novel. ;)

True, but I continually back check and correct my work. I don't think I can write much with out, never mind a page without looking it over.

And honestly, I don't think that is something I want to practice, even if it is expected. I would have to see a really good reason to try and do it that way.

Is that how you normally write? :)

It depends on what I'm writing. Outside of NaNo, to some extent, I do still try to write first and edit after, but I'm not always able to stick to that. For nonfiction/blogging especially I tend to overthink everything and revise/reword constantly as I go, which really slows me down. Unfortunate, as technicalities tend to matter a lot less in that format. Most of my fiction, if it's intended to be shared at all, tends to go over 2-3 passes for content and 2-3 additional ones for technical stuff, so I never worry too much about the first draft. I figure if I'm going to go back through it 4-6 more times on average, then mistakes are fine because I'll catch them later anyway.
