An excellent contrast to Anime Matsuri

I finished my AggieCon report and it is HERE. It's ~3800 words long, but the short version is basically that it was awesome. My first sci-fi/fantasy convention was lovely, and I would love to go back. C:

Thanks, WiCaMa / Lucubro-Insomnis for being an awesome neighbor, entertaining me all weekend, and sharing food! And thank you, Dr-Kara for letting me sleep on your couch!

My next convention is Comicpalooza in late May. I had been planning on re-opening commissions in the meantime, but I changed my mind. I haven't had a chance to just do whatever for a while. This doesn't usually bother me, but work-work has been frustrating in that on-again, off-again way, and I don't really feel like committing to extra assignments for other people right now. I'm not sure when I'll be open again --  probably not until July at the earliest, but I might do a few small, 'Souls-only commissions here and there.

I have a few comic ideas in vague, nebulous stages, and I have a bunch of similarly vague ideas that I want to paint. I do want to have a new comic ready for Comicpalooza, but I'm not sure how hard I'm gonna try for that. WE SHALL SEE.

Man, where is this year going? While we're at it, where did last year go? I swear my brain is stuck in January 2010.

Oh yeah, I finally made a non-personal Facebook page for myself, so feel free to add me there! :3 The order of my online presences from most-updated to least-updated will be as follows: Twitter, deviantART, Livejournal, Facebook, and website. Yup.

Read your "mega" post haha!
Meeting the Wizards of Coast artist sounded awesome!!!
You really never know just who might be talking to you or buying stuff sometimes at con, its so crazy awesome hehe.

I found it interesting you noticed many con virgin folks attending a comic book type /sf con as their very first con. I've heard and seen this also in my experience. For some reason I get a feeling that anime cons have some "bad rep" or something to folks who really know nothing about them... it makes me sad.
Maybe cause we Anime folks are just so crazy xD

Well, I hope event went well, any oddities that you seemed to note in regards of Anime vs SF/Comic con, are all things Ive noticed also. Its a very different vibe and sell. But I look at it as just more people who prolly have no knowledge or insite to Japanese Anime type culture , comics, manga, or art. I like doing the comic SF cons just to promote Anime culture. ^ ^

Talk later!
